Education & Experience

Wholeness Harbor was created by a former caregiver and current licensed educator. Grounded in both practical experience and academic study, Wholeness Harbor brings expertise in designing clear, engaging programming and structured curriculum that supports older adults in connecting, learning, and thriving in group settings, now delivered through a fully built activities programming calendar that makes that expertise immediately accessible to any activities coordinator. Gerontological coursework includes healthy aging, ethical issues in aging, end-of-life care, and more.

Research Foundations

Wholeness Harbor programming is grounded in established research on aging, learning, and well-being. Our approach draws from evidence-based frameworks that support engagement, identity, and quality of life in later adulthood, including:

  • Differentiated Instruction to ensure activities are accessible across varying cognitive, physical, and sensory abilities
  • Sociocultural Learning to emphasize connection, shared meaning, and learning through social interaction
  • Activity Theory of Aging, which highlights the importance of purposeful engagement for well-being
  • Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) principles to support cognition, communication, and social connection
  • Life Review and Reminiscence practices that honor personal history, identity, and lived experience

For memory care programming, Wholeness Harbor incorporates:

  • Person-Centered Dementia Care, prioritizing dignity, autonomy, and individual strengths
  • Sensory-Based Care to support engagement, regulation, and emotional comfort

All programming is thoughtfully designed to be adaptable, respectful, and meaningful for diverse care settings.
