Inside a Wholeness Harbor Lesson
This lesson overview demonstrates the structure, accessibility, and simplicity of each weekly lesson. All lessons are delivered through easy-to-follow slides and can be facilitated by staff members with minimal preparation.
1. Each lesson opens with a recognizable social or cultural reference to inspire nostalgia, spark conversation, and help residents connect through shared memories.
2. The topic introduction gives residents a clear, simple overview of the week’s theme, helping them understand the focus, connect personally, and ease into discussion.
3. Lessons are bookended with thoughtful, relevant quotes that introduce the theme, inspire reflection, and create a grounded, cohesive beginning and end for each lesson.
4.Turn & Talk and Share Out serve as gentle warmups, giving residents a comfortable way to connect, break the ice, and engage confidently before moving into the main activity.
5. Weekly activities vary by theme and may include arts and crafts, light games, writing exercises, or group discussions, giving residents fun, accessible ways to connect and participate.
6. Weekly themed meditations are provided as brief audio recordings, with printed meditation sheets offered for residents with hearing impairments to ensure accessibility and inclusion.
7. Optional homework activities are provided for residents who want to deepen reflection or continue the theme on their own, while keeping participation voluntary.
